An article in the September 2016 issue of Self Build & Design titled, ‘Mirror On The Wall’ focuses on a home that has been cladded with polished stainless steel, creating a mirrored effect.
During the article, a small section talks about metal cladding in general. Metal cladding used to only be used as an industrial and commercial cladding material which is now becoming very popular for contemporary new builds. The metals normally used for this cladding are copper, stainless steel and aluminium.
Metal cladding can be used in a variety of ways including low-profile roof covering and cladded walls to create a flexible, lightweight option which can then be cut and curved to fit virtually any shape.
Metal walling systems are great as they are very quick to build, weather resistant and can offer high levels of fire resistance and thermal performance.
